Near Field Communication (NFC) is a subset of RFID technology that allows for two-way communication between devices within a very close range (usually less than 4 cm). NFC is commonly used in smartphones for contactless payments and data transfer. Since NFC operates on similar frequencies as some RFID systems, devices can be vulnerable to similar security risks.
